Online Festival

The festival aims to create an international meeting point for:

Greek producers, film/moving image artists / directors and writers from all over the world (Greek-Cypriot, and Greek origin artists from Greek Diaspora included) – there is no specific topic that the film should be based... or International producers, film/moving image artists / directors and writers that exhibit Greek historical or cultural themes or they use the Greek language, or whose works are produced in the country itself. Also: international producers and film/moving image artists / directors and writers who have an interest in Greece, Greek heritage and contemporary Greek related themes.

The London Greek Film Festival will provide a welcoming space to artists, film-makers, producers, practitioners, academics, technologists and art-film lovers for discussion, workshops and networking with a diverse body of talent.

THE JURY

Ann Kristin Glenster: Producer / Film Financer / Screenwriter. Ann Kristin has considerable experience as a film financer and screenwriter. As the Managing Director of FilmCamp, a Norwegian regional fund, she invested in several feature films with budgets over US$10 million including The Kautokeino Rebellion and Far North starring Sean Bean and Michelle Yeoh which premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival. Ann Kristin is an award-winning screenwriter and is currently developing several projects with her writing partner Funke Oyebanjo. In addition, Ann Kristin runs her own finance consultancy company BOILER STATION and acts as an Executive Producer on selected films. In 2004 she was invited to join the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) for her work of writing for the screen. Ann Kristin has a unique European perspective and is based in Norway and London.

Alexandra Dyranis - Maounis: Scriptwriter / Development Producer. Alex has a joint BA in English Literature & Film Studies and an MA in Creative Writing from Brunel University, and a diploma in Scriptwriting from the New York Film Academy. In summer 2007, she took a Creative Writing course at Exeter College Oxford. As a student, Alexandra got involved in numerous short movie productions as Assistant Director and Assistant Producer for November Films. In October 2004, she embarked on her professional career mainly through freelancing as a script reader and writer in well known production companies such as Initial part of Endemol, Apollo Films, Pop Productions and agencies such as Portman. Alexandra has also worked as project manager and co-ordinator for International Theatre Crossroads (Greece 2005) and the Theatre Lab Company (2007-2008) and with CosmoTheatre and CosmoCinema since 2008 as Production Assistant. Alexandra is working as Development Producer for Charm Offensive on Pentecost (Union Chapel, 2010).

Leda Papachatzi: Programming Manager ANT1 PAY TV. Leda has a BA in Media Studies from University of Westminster and an MA in Media and Communications from Goldsmiths College, University of London. Both dissertations for her BA and MA explored and analysed programming and audiences of Greek Commercial Television. She did her placement in the Greek Section of BBC Radio and started working for ANT1 Group as soon as she returned to Athens, as a PAY TV Programming Executive. In her second year in ANT1 Group, she ran the planning and the realisation of ANT1 Gold. As a Programming Manager, Leda has initiated extensive research projects relating to the viewing habits of Greek audiences in Greece and abroad. Leda is currently Programming Manager for ANT1 PAY TV and is responsible for the programming and the media promotion strategies of all PAY TV channels of ANT1 in USA and Canada, Australia and Europe.

Tassos Regios: Journalist / Film Critic. Tassos is a member of Journalists' Union of Macedonia and Thrace Daily Newspapers (ΕΣΗΕΜ-Θ); also member of the Film Critics' International Union (FIPRESCI). He is author and publisher for culture and cinema magazines; he was member of Commitees for the National's Greek Awards
